Porsche 917K Daytona 1970Petri Huhtala 11-05-2009, 12:18 PM 1970 in Daytona 24h race happened something remarkable in Finnish racing history, it was the first time that finnish driver wins proffessional race. In winning car number 2 had two driver, mexican Pedro Rodriguez and finnish Leo Kinnunen. I built this car to look like it has 24h of racing behind. This is Fujimi 1971 Daytona winner kit and i did some modifications to it, biggest was engine and exhaust modifications. Here is the real thing http://img389.imageshack.us/img389/3226/70daytona109v1069638822af5.jpg http://petrinkuvat.kuvat.fi/kuvat/Porsche%20917K/Porsche+917K+1971.web.jpg/_small.jpg This was the first time that i did not buy any book for information and same time the last. It is real hard to find a good photos with right information, thatīs why i make some mistakes in building this car. http://petrinkuvat.kuvat.fi/kuvat/Porsche+917K/Porsche+917K+1972.web.jpg/_small.jpg http://petrinkuvat.kuvat.fi/kuvat/Porsche+917K/Porsche+917K+1973.web.jpg/_small.jpg http://petrinkuvat.kuvat.fi/kuvat/Porsche+917K/Porsche+917K+1975.web.jpg/_small.jpg http://petrinkuvat.kuvat.fi/kuvat/Porsche+917K/Porsche+917K.web.jpg/_small.jpg http://petrinkuvat.kuvat.fi/kuvat/Porsche+917K/Porsche+917K+1974.web.jpg/_small.jpg http://petrinkuvat.kuvat.fi/kuvat/Porsche+917K/Sisusta+t%E4ysin+valmis+002.web.jpg/_small.jpg http://petrinkuvat.kuvat.fi/kuvat/Porsche+917K/Sisusta+t%E4ysin+valmis+003.jpg/_small.jpg klutz_100 11-05-2009, 01:15 PM Lovely job  The 24hr weathering is very well done! jano11 11-05-2009, 01:54 PM Great weathering on this model, it looks very realistic. I still don't understand why Fujimi keeps not putting rear wiev mirrors on these kits :grinno: Petri Huhtala 12-11-2009, 06:18 PM Fabulous work and very nice weathering :) . I still don't understand why Fujimi keeps not putting rear wiev mirrors on these kits :grinno: There is a simple reason, there wasnīt outside mirrors in these cars. Only mirror was in the cocpit. Later came periscope mirror on the roof. sam01contact 12-11-2009, 07:25 PM Fantastic weathering! I specially like the job you did on the headlight covers! vekkuli 12-12-2009, 10:40 AM There is a simple reason, there wasnīt outside mirrors in these cars. Only mirror was in the cocpit.
