COMPLETE: Revell-of-Germany Audi R8tigeraid 11-04-2009, 09:48 PM As usual, too damn busy to post WIPs these days, but found the time to throw together a kit I've wanted to do for a while. The Audi R8 is one of the few modern exotic cars that even REMOTELY get my attention--I find most modern Ferraris, Porsches, Lamborghinis, etc a bit boring and not at all attractive. But something about the R8 sticks with me, it's bold and unique, it looks unlike anything else on the road. The colour scheme was inspired by those great wallpaper pics of a Bugatti Veyron sliding around on a desert road--it's the same sort of light metallic blue, and I left the engine pods primer. The build is box stock, nothing fancy--the instructions didn't tell me the rear taillight lenses were supposed to be red, and I don't have clear red spraypaint, so I just left them clear and painted the inserts black, sort of a clearcorner look, I guess. Anyway, it was quick, it wasn't perfect, but it was a lot of fun. http://www.tigersdenhobbies.com/gallery/tigeraid%20r8/tigeraid_r8_complete1.jpg http://www.tigersdenhobbies.com/gallery/tigeraid%20r8/tigeraid_r8_complete2.jpg http://www.tigersdenhobbies.com/gallery/tigeraid%20r8/tigeraid_r8_complete3.jpg http://www.tigersdenhobbies.com/gallery/tigeraid%20r8/tigeraid_r8_complete4.jpg Porsnatic 11-04-2009, 10:37 PM You're completelly right, my friend...this car, and the model itself has something...excellent job on this one! A question, what brand of paint you used on this one? What's exactlly the name of the color? Thank you! BVC500 11-04-2009, 11:58 PM Nice color! Before painting, I would have removed the mold lines from the front fender/bumper. MidMazar 11-05-2009, 05:07 PM Looks good, i think it would look better with aluminum wheels. Either way nice to see you building something for yourself. :evillol: tigeraid 11-05-2009, 07:36 PM Nice color! Before painting, I would have removed the mold lines from the front fender/bumper. As usual, when I focus so much on customer builds, my own builds suffer--I rarely miss mould lines, but I missed those. :screwy: tigeraid 11-05-2009, 07:37 PM A question, what brand of paint you used on this one? What's exactlly the name of the color? Thank you! It's a Dupli-color OEM colour, unfortunately I threw away the cap so I don't know the name. :frown: Big Kahuna 11-07-2009, 07:35 PM Looks great. I was thinking of pulling out mine for a quick build too. Dean23 11-07-2009, 10:16 PM Nice looking build, i like the colour. I have the revell kit of this not the revell of germany one. Hopefully i get sometime in the future to resume building. Porsnatic 11-08-2009, 01:46 AM OK, please, could you post a picture of the can? quadzero 11-10-2009, 12:27 AM I can see why this car would grab your attention. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
