97 tahoe injectors not workingSickTahoe 10-30-2009, 03:54 PM i have a 97 tahoe that isnt pumping anything from the injectors. it getting gas to the injuectors but its not pumping . i even changed the spider injector assembly thinking it might have gotten plugged and still no luck. i changed the crank sensor, coil, pickup coil in the distributor an d a few other parts. i know its firing its just not getting any fuel in the cylenders. i am at the end of my rope with this. anyone know what might be wrong with it?:banghead: bowhuntrrl 10-30-2009, 05:21 PM i have a 97 tahoe that isnt pumping anything from the injectors. it getting gas to the injuectors but its not pumping . i even changed the spider injector assembly thinking it might have gotten plugged and still no luck. i changed the crank sensor, coil, pickup coil in the distributor an d a few other parts. i know its firing its just not getting any fuel in the cylenders. i am at the end of my rope with this. anyone know what might be wrong with it?:banghead: You will need to have someone test your fuel line pressure. Those poppet valves on your car won't open unless they get about 63 pounds of fuel pressure . Did you check the pressure regulator?? I just went through something similar with my '98 Tahoe. The systems are slightly different but I believe they both use poppet valves and require about the same fuel line pressure. I ended up replacing my spider with the conversion one that converts to MPI type injection. According to GM, those poppet systems from about '97 to 2002 aren't worth repairing and should be converted, but you may just have a simple pressure problem, maybe the fuel pump. j cAT 10-30-2009, 07:53 PM i have a 97 tahoe that isnt pumping anything from the injectors. it getting gas to the injuectors but its not pumping . i even changed the spider injector assembly thinking it might have gotten plugged and still no luck. i changed the crank sensor, coil, pickup coil in the distributor an d a few other parts. i know its firing its just not getting any fuel in the cylenders. i am at the end of my rope with this. anyone know what might be wrong with it?:banghead: check for 12volts at injector coil[S]...make sure the injector grounds are good. does it start up when you put some fuel into the intake ? as mentioned having pressure is not a good way to say "I HAVE FUEL PRESSURE" it is required to measure the fuel pressure, if too low and it don't take much it will not run...also it must hold pressure engine off key on...if it rapidly drops off after 2 sec. this means fuel supply issues, usually pump... this would not surprise me .do you have fuel in the tank ? how much ? SickTahoe 11-01-2009, 12:04 PM the fuel pump has 65 lbs pressure and will start if i spray starting fluid in the intake. i dont know about the ground to the injectors because i dont know where it is. the tahoe started by running like crap when it would rain. it started hard and then it would run normal after awhile of driving. then it got worse and then last time i drove it and parked it, it ran ok then when i went to drive it again it wouldnt start and hasnt started since then. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
