Getting Brake Drums To Go On

I just finshed installing new brake shoes on my 1995 1.3 L lsi hatchback. But, I can't get the drums to go back on. I used Autozone Duralast brake shoes and the parking brake is adjusted loose. The brake shoes all seemed to be identical, with no difference between primary and secondary shoes. The drums came off easily and the shoes were about 75% worn out but one of the wheel cylinders was leaking so I replaced both of them, too.

Is there some good trick to installing them besides beating them on? I didn't have the drums turned, which would help. But then I would have to remove the bearings and drive a long ways, too.

Thanks for any help.

If they are the same as the 3 cyl. Metro, there is a ratchet adjusting bar that needs to be reset as small as it goes before the drums will slide on. Also, sometimes the shoes need to be shifted around as a group to center them. Hope that helps.
