While the world economy may be cooling, the competition in the V8 StockCar Road Racing Series remains white hot. More than thirty stock cars and GT types are expected for the MO'S GOLD V8 Championships at Road Atlanta November 6th &7th. The V8 Series finale is part of the American Road Race of Champions, ably hosted by the ATLANTA REGION SCCA and presented by GRASSROOTS MOTORSPORTS MAGAZINE. The ARRC has become one of the premier amateur road racing events in the country, drawing top notch competitors from across the land. The V8 series roster of combatants include some of club and pro racings finest, and their high horsepower V8 time machines will split eardrums, quicken the pulse, and excite even the most casual of observers sending them running to the fence to watch. These cars are so fast, so cool, and so loud that they can turn even an ardent member of GREENPEACE into fans.

The V8 StockCar series has four classes of smokin' fast racers including the incredibly affordable V8 GTA cars, a tube framed 2800 pound, 500 horsepower road race stock car that can top 160 mph down Road Atlanta's straights. In addtion, there is the V8 SPO stock cars which look similar but are powered by motors pushing nearly 700 horsepower and are capable of hitting 170 mph in the RA straights. The new class for 2009 is the V8 GT2 cars, which are ex World Challenge Cars, Koni Challenge Cars, SCCA GT2 and the like. The fastest of the group are the V8 GT-1's, these are the winged, Corvette's, Camaro's, Mustangs, and Monte Carlo's with as much as 800 horsepower, 14 inch wide rubber, sophisticated suspensions and 175 plus mph speeds.
