I have an 88 K1500 350 4x4 with 195,000 miles less on the tranny (4L60E)tho been changed a year ago with a used one.It slips more when its at normal temp. In the past when I had a slipping problem and changed the filter only to have it crap out shortly after. I noticed alot of people around that rebuild them but I'd rather do it myself if its possible without specialty tools. I've looked online for "how-to info" on the net but I could'nt find anything with detailed instructions. I hoped to just change the filter until spring but I'd hate to blow the tranny. Any thoughts on this? Even your input on effectivly changing the tranny filter would be greatly appreciated.

It should be a 4L60 not electronic.

Is the TV cabel set good and adjusted good and working?
How is the fluid level and condition?

What are the up shifts speeds MPH on a norml take off?

I would try a filter change to start with.
Let us know what all is in filter and bottom of pan.

This links are for a 4L60E but close.

Most transmission parts places have transmission repair hand books with a lot on good repair info.
