95 neon alternator swapbsluggers 10-26-2009, 12:31 AM Is there an easy method to swap out an alternator on a sohc neon. After busting my knuckles trying to remove the darn thing, 3 hrs produced a removed lower (long) bolt and a loosened upper bolt..any help would be appreciated. Should I just remove the entire bracket? I am an old B body mopar guy this is my first venture into metric mopars...:banghead: mopar_rocks 10-26-2009, 12:54 AM I think ... not 100% sure on this one as I've done mostly classic Mopar's myself, that removing the bracket itself is the easiest way. Disconnect the battery first off. (which you've probably already done) You will surely have to work the alternator down between the body and lower control arm ... try to remember how it came out so it's not such a pain getting it back up in there. I just went out and looked at my 96 and came to this conclusion ... I could be wrong. Removal of the passenger side tire and splash guard will be in order as well. Of course everything will have to be done from the bottom. Also, remember to unplug and disconnect all wires connected to the alternator prior to attempting to remove it. Good luck! :) Oldsmobile Doctor 10-30-2009, 08:46 AM You will need to remove the pivot bracket vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
