where to start?hittmann81 10-25-2009, 12:37 AM I think i kind of cooked my 89 Camry SV21 3S-FE motor. I found out that this was a due to a corroded whatever that part is that the temperature sensor and other sensors screw into that is bolted onto the head that all the hoses connect to :) (sorry NFI what it's called) It never registered on the gauge that it was overheating (or I didn't notice it). It just stalled and I was like hmmm that was odd pulled to the side of the road and steam was everywhere. I didn't fix it cause I needed another car immediately so I just bought a bomb and I haven't fixed the camry yet. The car can still start, has no water in the oil or oil in radiator but the plugs get oily. I'm planning on doing a compression test to check the head gasket / head. What sort of other possible damage could've been done and what things should i definitely be checking out here. I can't say I've ever cooked a motor before so not too sure what i should be looking for. RIP 10-25-2009, 03:46 PM Do the compresion check when the engine is hot. Change the fluids to get a good look at them. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
