99 Tahoe - Trouble Accelerating / Hesitation ficr.rogers8 10-24-2009, 06:50 PM 99 Tahoe - Trouble Accelerating / Hesitation -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1999 tahoe 5.7 motor 156000 mile this is what i did to fix my 99 4WD Tahoe has been giving me problems accelerating when I give it a heavy foot. When I hit the gas down it loses acceleration. almost like it being starved for gas. When I hit the gas the engines just bogs down, begins to hesitate, and will not accelerate. some one said it was distributor cap. guess what thats not it. i have seen alot of threads on here about the same problem it was the fuel pump i drive about thirty miles one way and about half way home it was actting up. i have seen alot about not using airtex fuel pumps and the guy that had this before me used a airtex fuel pump imaign that . so what i could figure out is that about half way home the pump would start getting hot and start lossing presure and when you shut the key off it was like resetting it but what it is doing is repressurizing the system to 62 psi then slowly loss pressure again. i change the fuel pump with the delphi fuel pump and now everything works great just thought i would post this because i have seen alot of these threads roadrunner2 10-24-2009, 11:10 PM Appreciate the heads up post.
