Is it bad to run different tire brands if they have similar tread patterns?

Hey guys,
So I ran over a shard the other night in my 2005 corvette and it completely
flattened my drivers side rear tire and cannot be repaired. I went to discount tire to get an new one and they said that this type and size of tire is on backorder for 1+ month. They said they can get another tire for me though. I looked at the tire and the tread pattern is actually fairly similar. Do you think it would be a bad idea to get this tire. Thanks

If the size is the same it will be ok,Wrong size can affect(speed sensors) and harm your drivetrain.

I know it wouldn't be cheap but I would want 2 matched tires on an axle. True or not I'd be concerned about even slighly different tire diameters putting too much wear on the differential over time. Besides it'd probably handle a little funny if you drive the "vette near the limit it's capable :grinyes:.
