Another race in the old mans carPsman32@af 10-20-2009, 01:36 PM So last Friday, i was headed to get my amp looked at as it has been acting up lately. Was stopped at a light and shortly on the other side of the light, it goes from two lanes to one. I'm first at the light in the left lane. A 99-01 BMW 3 series pulls up next to me. Its staggered a bit cause it intersects the cross road run at an angle, so he was at the rear of my front door. The light goes green and he jumps on it before i react. He jumps up to my front fender. I get on it and pull on him instantly. He shuts down at 50 since its clear he isn't going to get in front of me before he runs out of road, as he has fallen about a car length off my rear bumper at that point. I wonder what the driver was thinking getting beat by a Grand Marquis. CassiesMan 10-22-2009, 01:32 PM 323 or 328? Not that it would make to much of a difference, still a good kill. I woulda been surprised if it was me and I still had the 3er. Psman32@af 10-22-2009, 05:53 PM I have no clue. my guess would be the 328. Whatever is closer to my car in terms of power to weight. I don't know that much about BMW's. I think I have a lower power to weight then either though. CassiesMan 10-22-2009, 06:03 PM You may have lower power to weight, but on the first run E46s (323 and 328) if you are faster than a fifteen flat you'll win every time. The fastest I ever managed to get my 325i to run was a 14.9xx, and that was with a bit of work done to it. TorchedStealth 10-22-2009, 07:43 PM Sounds like a fun run! I would be pretty surprised if I was him too Psman32@af 10-23-2009, 12:13 AM It was fun. The whole point of having a sleeper car is to pounce on unsuspecting victims. The last time I hit the track, i ran a 15.85 @85. Course at that time, all I had were gears with no computer tune so my car was limited to 85 due to the speedo being off cause of the damn delay in getting my tune. I haven't been back since. Had a short sprint against a stock V8 camaro from the late 90's and from 15-60 was only down by half a car a car or so. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
