I just realized that I had posted this in the wrong category

I cannot open the back door tailgate on my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. All the other doors will unlock with the remote and with the door locks. It had been making a noise when I would use the locks and someone once said it could be the actuator??. What do you think and is there a way to manually open the door? Also the "flipper" window will not open either???

The lever for the outer handle is probably out of adjustment or the linkage in the latch is sticking in a semi-release position. If its in this position it will not allow the door to unlock. You can try wiggling and jiggling while using the key to turn the lock cylinder to the unlock position. Both of those problems are fairly common.

Thanks for the info. There is no key hole for me to place a key in the back. I did find a small "door" in the inside panel (to the back door). I opened that and removed some "stuffing" and found a lock mechanism. I played around with that and the door unlocked. I put my car in the NO LOCK MODE in the menu. I'm afraid if it locks again the same thing will happen.:)
