I have a 01 SC2 DOHC with the string type intake gasket. I am loosing coolant when the car sets overnight on a cool night under 50 degrees. I checked the hose from the overflow bottle to the intake. This does not seem to be a common issue. Closest gasket is 4 states away. 2 questions has anyone seen this before on this engine. And how do I get the intake to clear the mounting studs on removal do I need to remove the throttle body from the intake first. Are there any cracking issues on this intake ? I could not get on saturnfans.com.

Hmm...Kind of odd. I dont hear about that issue all the time. Make sure its the gasket. A cracked DOHC Head or manifold is RARE. See my "SOHC intake manifold gasket Replacement" thread I posted a while ago. You'll see exactly how to take it out.

Ge a felpro gasket from Rockaut.com
