My hubby's truck has a problem..big time!

The gas light comes on and then the truck won't shift out of low gear (auto) until I fill it up enough to make that stupid light go off.

Anyone ever had this problem? Is there a sensor or something that would make this happen?

can't say I have ever seen that one happen. It sounds as though it has some sort of protection that makes you slow down and get gas before you run out. That's a strange one though. You might stop by the dealership sometime and ask the service manager if there is a way to disable it or if it is something actually wrong with the truck. If it's under warranty it's obviously a free fix, but we all know what happens if it's not. $$$
