My defog lead is detached, and, with the winter coming, I'd like to re-attach it. Is soldering the only option, or is there a conductive cement that I can reattach it with? Some other solution for reattaching?

Loctite / Permatex sells a kit for this:

Yep, you'll want to go with the adhesive. The first link above is for the grid repair paint, it really has no mechanical strength to it.

I did successfully resolder one of these once, but I hear I was very lucky that the window didn't break from the concentrated heat. You could also go with a silver bearing conductive epoxy from an electronics store. I'm not sure of the price difference between the conductive epoxy and what Loctite sells. You might compare prices with this. (http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/MG-Chemicals/8331-14G/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMtyU1cDF2RqUM5GB9DKDhl%2f%252bc9DWWHc I5c%3d)

Thanks Rod!
That epoxy is a lot more expensive, but, I suspect it will cure a lot better in our weather up in snow country, without my having to heat the car so much, and, should anybody else in the neighborhood have the same problem, we're set!
