Sami Aaltonen 10-16-2009, 12:05 PM HOH what a collection you have Hurstg01! Superb! :lol2: Long time work and all those are super rare in to the future! Well I really haven't that much things, but some. Of course the scale models are the biggest things I have bought. http://kuvablogi.com/blog/1949/73/ . But also there is some VHS, DVD and some GULF press? cards and less and more luckyly got singature cards. But the most valuable thing to my self is the self made binder. (Sorry if this is off topic, because it isn't bought stuff :disappoin ) Back then 95-97, I was just 16 years an old I loved to do things like this. I cuted images of the magazines, printed them out of the Internet, put some glue and stick to clear A4 white paper and so on. Here is couple of shots of that binder, great to read now after over 10 years time. Hope you like it! This is the cover. http://kuva1.kuvablogi.com/iso/img2312314.jpg Next few pages are F1 roadcar http://kuva1.kuvablogi.com/iso/img2312315.jpg Need For Speed- images.... http://kuva1.kuvablogi.com/iso/img2312317.jpg http://kuva1.kuvablogi.com/iso/img2312316.jpg Not very often seen engine pic? And a GTR Fan!!!!! (Thanks for the help find the J.J's GTR's!) First I loved the F1 roadcar, then I saw the GTR and then the LM and I was sold. :sunglasse And then some man from Finland; J.J Lehto made some motorsport history with GTR McLaren's, what more I could ask. :) Loved the car and what J.J done with those; it was brilliant! One of the greatest racing cars ever (incredible history) and Finnish driver, very skilled one, great!!!! And the document what was new for me this week; I found the clips what I have been saw over 10 years ago, I had them a quicktime versions, but I've lost them. And now I finally got them back a full version! :sunglasse murraydeschot 10-27-2009, 04:48 AM Some VERY interesting objects here indeed! Like most here I have assorted 'clutter' re: the F1. Magazines, Brochures, Press Packs, Books, Prints, etc. I was offered a handbook and service book at one point in my early insanity, but the price was immensely scary, and I politely declined. Afraid I can't recall from which car. My Scale Model collection has been my biggest investment as it started with one 1:43rd Minichamps Red Road Car, and has grown to maybe - never documented how many actually - 100(?) F1's of all scales 1:87 -1:12 and incarnations. Stuck WELL clear of the toys from Maisto and Guilloy however. Greg, having just lost your virginity to this disease recently, be warned of what's coming! I think the most obscure thing I have is a postage stamp from some former Soviet country featuring an F1LM. Erik, can you recall which country? I think it was discussed - maybe scanned and posted - here in the past. Don't know where the bugger is now! murraydeschot 10-27-2009, 05:07 AM Finnish driver, very skilled one, great!!!! Sami ... what is it with the Finnish and the Scottish? Such small nations, 5 million people (like my home nation, Scotland) and yet sooooooooooooooo many GREAT drivers in race and rally. I'm afraid I can't spell Finnish. But you've had a huge amount of unpronouncable-named drivers! Scotland has also brought forward names like Jim Clark, Jackie Stewart, David Coulthard, Allan McNeish, Dario Franchetti, Colin MacRae, ettc. Yep, somethings are quite strange, why this is like this? :) Well most of the top Finnish drivers are rally drivers, they live Midlle-Finland where is nothing but woods and gravel roads, so it's easy to start hobby with rally cars. And also luck needed as well to get top of the world. But then there is J.J Lehto, Mika Häkkinen, Mika Salo, Kimi Räikkönen, Heikki Kovalainen and not to forget Keke Rosberg..... Same thing there Scotland, strange things these really, why so small nations but great drivers, no one can tell the reason, I think? carbuilder2002 10-28-2009, 07:04 PM Simple really both have narrow twisting and often trecherous roads usually impassable for long periods of the year lol murraydeschot 10-29-2009, 12:17 AM Believe you are referring to this - not sure which country, but obviously somewhere in eastern Europe. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/McLaren%20F1%20H/fa_1b.jpg >8^) ER That's the stamp indeed. Did a Google, apparently it's The Republic of Kalmykia - The only Buddhist nation in Europe - that's a new one on me! NEVER heard of the place! Despite owning the stamp a few years. hurstg01 10-31-2009, 12:02 PM After an offline chat with Erik, I saw, bid on and won this - http://i.ebayimg.com/11/!BdYkofgBGk~$(KGrHqYH-EIErgcO3e3HBK4uz2jgBw~~_35.JPG Now, does anyone have a GT lapel pin for swaps / sale?..... murraydeschot 11-01-2009, 07:29 AM After an offline chat with Erik, I saw, bid on and won this - http://i.ebayimg.com/11/!BdYkofgBGk~$(KGrHqYH-EIErgcO3e3HBK4uz2jgBw~~_35.JPG Now, does anyone have a GT lapel pin for swaps / sale?..... I can't recall seeing that If I spot another one Greg, its yours. :runaround: You already have the content on DVD  hurstg01 11-26-2009, 01:21 PM Cheers Le Man!! Peloton25 11-26-2009, 01:42 PM Yes, big thanks to Le Man as he spotted this one first and shot me the link knowing that I was eager to own the original content. :) Even the text on the box is cool: When the TAG McLaren directors gave their design team the brief for the proposed new 'supercar' it was straightforward in the extreme. It was to build a car that even the opposition would have to acknowledge as the best! As you will see from this tape, McLaren Cars Technical Director Gordon Murray and his team succeeded. Perhaps even beyond their own wildest dreams! Even though the opposition might not care to admit it publicly, by any yardstick the V12 McLaren F1 has to be rated as the best supercar yet to hit the road. As proof, McLaren can quote, the world record 240.1mph top speed that you experience in this video, thanks to a thrilling on-board camera blast with Le Mans winnner Andy Wallace. No production road car has yet gone faster...and you're on-board at the max! More evidence needed? How about a win in the Le Mans 24 Hour Race for the GTR version of the F1 in 1995? On its very first attempt at the French sportscar classic, no less! Any way you care to examine it, the McLaren F1 can legitimately claim to be the ultimate supercar so far, and through this video you can see exactly how it was conceived, designed, built and tested. Much of the footage was actually shot during these processes by the McLaren design team and along the way we hear from McLaren Chief Executive Ron Dennis, designer Gordon Murray, stylist Peter Stevens and test driver Jonathan Palmer. No other video has taken such an intimate look at the construction of a supercar. The fact that the subject of this one is generally acknowledged to be the best ever built makes this essential viewing for anyone who has ever understood the passion and power of beautiful fast cars. It still puzzles me why McLaren felt the need to have these pulled from the shelves. >8^) ER Sami Aaltonen 11-27-2009, 06:30 AM OK, Nice material! Hope some one could do a GTR Historic on the DVD, explain details different chassis, production lines, race histories, driver interwievs and sort of things from, 95-97 years. I don't mind that it would be 2 DVD pack or something, but really hope some one would do that kind of documentary! :) Well....I quess my dream is unpossible.......:shakehead vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
