Intermittent "buzzing" sound

I own a 06 Lucerne CXS, and have been very well pleased with it. That being said, there is one anoying thing that happens, maybe a couple or three times a month. It will emit a "buzzing" sound from somewhere behind the instrument cluster (not like a "fan" noise...more like a buzzer). It's very intermittent, so I've never taken it to the dealer (didn't want them to look at me like I was nuts!). Anyway, 99 percent of the time I can get it to shut up by engaging the turn signal (either direction), however, the other night this "fix" didn't do the trick. Turning off the engine doesn't do the trick either (it keeps buzzing until the door is opened and then stops, only to start back up again when the car is restarted). The next day it was fine, and hasn't buzzed since. Has anyone heard of a problem such as this before?
Thanks

I thought I had every problem conceivable with my Lucerne, but never this one. Just a long shot here, but without hearing it, it would sound to me like a relay hum, possibly for the signals (since it had an effect on it) or key in ignition minder or radio ( since opening the door stopped it) It is a guess, but we have to start somewhere. Glad you are happy with your Lucerne.

Could it be the air compressor that adjusts the air in the rear suspension periodically?
It makes a slight buzzing sound.
