Is the intake manifold gasket a common problem on the 4.3L engines? I have just under 180,000 miles on my motor and the IMG has gone bad. Do these motors have a tendency to also blow the head gasket when the IMG goes south (like the 3.4, been there done that on our van)?

What is the typical cost of replacing an IMG?
