97 Dodge ram 1500 4x4 Front axlel leakdrugaria 10-13-2009, 12:18 AM Ok, recently I had to replace the left side(driver's side) u joint on the front axle. I did everything myself and took great care not to damage the axle seal. But with my bad luck the seal started leaking couple months after the repair. I also have a tiny leak at the vacum switch (square box on axle , passenger side) .That small leak is really no problem, but would like to fix it if it's not a big deal. As far as the left axle shaft seal leak, it seems to be getting worse and I have to fix it. So my question is what special tools do I need and what is the procedure to fix it? Taking it to a proffesional mechanic is not an option due to my financial situation. drugaria 11-12-2009, 02:52 AM This forum really sucks, not a single reply for over a month:screwy: :banghead: Chris Stewart 11-12-2009, 06:17 PM Here's something, http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=746502&highlight=Dodge+ram+1500+4x4+Front+axle+leak Here's something about the seal, http://dieselpowerman.tripod.com/Front%20Axle%20Tech/Front%20Axle%20Tech.htm vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
