thermostat issuerubs 10-10-2009, 02:53 PM Hi, I recently noticed that if the outside temp is around 50 and I set the thermostat at 70 it still blow cool air and only after i move the thermostat >80 that it start blowing hot air that was expected since i checked with external themostat and car temp was cold. This only happens in winter and in summer it works fine and correctly operate the A/C and keep the car temp as what is set in thermostat. what can be the possible issue? Thanks --rubs Nahkapohjola 10-18-2009, 07:34 AM Hi, I recently noticed that if the outside temp is around 50 and I set the thermostat at 70 it still blow cool air and only after i move the thermostat >80 that it start blowing hot air that was expected since i checked with external themostat and car temp was cold. Thanks --rubs ...w/o car history one could only guess between a squirrel nest inside the heater and a ctrl wiring contact problem, latter most common. First and simplest: Is the coolant liquid level ok? Air bubbles thoroughly bleeded out? I quess the problem could be in getting heated coolant flow started through the heater core. Check this & links http://www.cardomain.com/ride/748507/7 Check also vacuum (=power) hosing to the heater valve; can be sticking due to myriad reasons (cracked hoses - inadequate vacuum). vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
