1999 Cougar - Odd Vibration

Hey all,
This is a 1999 Cougar 2.5L v6 with 5 speed transmission. The issue at hand is that when the car is traveling at highway speeds (55+) a weird vibration starts to occur. The car will shake towards the front (engine compartment), travel to the steering wheel, and finally to the rear of the car. The best way to think of the way the vibration travels is something like a dog shaking water off of its coat.
The vibration will not always progress in the same order, but will hit all of those spots. Most people would say the tires, which do need to be replaced, but this is vibration that is different from old tires.
Could it be a missing mount?

Replaced tires and its all ok. Guess I stink at diagnosis!
