Hi all,

I had recently replaced the vacuum hoses around the carb, EGR & Air cleaner. New crankcase breather (other was loose and leaky) Also new EFI lines @ carb and fuel filter (new filter). We had what i would call "fart car" surging (before the hose replacement). Like when a guy hotrods his honda and it won't idle normally....think of a biorhythm chart. Our truck was doing this surge and it seemed to get better after restarting it and driving it a couple miles.

I stopped and turned the truck off to see if the wavy idle surge would come back and now the only power i see is the headlights, interior lights. This is a near 200,000 mile truck, previous owner must have messed up the steering lock, because it sounds like gravel inside there w/ the key in the off position.

Anyway, when you turn the key with the truck in PARK, NOTHING happens, no solenoid click or anything. Like the battery was removed from the truck. The engine seems to run decent for a near 200,000 mile truck, but was wondering what this could be.

I know the previous owner told me about having to move some wires...not sure if it was the firewall or the fenderwall.

Anyone with some tips on this?

UPDATE: GF just talked to previous owner and he had something like this happen before. He mentioned that there is something like a 50 amp blade fuse by the driver's side fenderwall?

Anyone know what this fuse may go to?

He said the last time this fuse went, it blew while he was driving!!

sounds like a wire may have an insulation problem?
