I just got this in the mail today. Just as Greg's build on the forum of the 1/12 Z, this is a kit I have wanted for years but finally got at a reasonable price. Here is a link to my introduction thread as I am a newbie

I have not yet decided exactly what I want to do. Have been thinking about doing a weathered barn find with rust etc.

I also haven't been building models much over the last few years so..... This will probably be a slow process.

First impression of this kit is that it's incredibly detailed for the age. I was blown away. I had never seen photos of the parts or even the final build so I was a bit worried about the press being so old. All those worries instantly went away as I looked over the parts.

The interior panels are soft plastic!!! The seats look amazing as do the suspension and engine parts.

My only real beef with the kit is that it doesn't have the optional parts for the standard front end. I just assumed it did from seeing the ralley version photo in the box.

I figure rather than start another thread, I would throw in a few photos from my other projects.

The 510 was something I was toying around with before I got my real 72 510. I was thinking about that as the color scheme but I am happy with the orange :)

The volvo was a replica of my old car. My 94 850R wagon. It was also lowered and tinted out with the grey wheels. I was going to get the passnger vehicle version and put the normal interior in the race car with roll cage. I cannot believe how expensive those volvo kits are now!!!

The green Z is a replica of one of my dads cars.

The safari gold Z is a replica of the car he is currently restoring.

And the STI was an attempt at a diorama. I was going to have it cresting a jump. At the time I had so many other things going on, I never finished it.

I absolutely love this forum. I spent 5 hours on here last night and have been inspired to get back to it!!! I picked up a Fujimi Nissan Stagea Mine's edition last night and look forward to doing something cool with it

Yeah, ya know...I think I can recall someone doing the standard front end parts in resin at one time..? Reckon I saw some on ebay a long time ago..:dunno:
But it would be so kool if Tamiya offered them in the 1 kit....

Is the 510 the Revell kit ? What's it like ?? Wouldn't mind one of them as well...

the revell kit isn't terrible. They are expensive now on eBay. I bought 2 kits when you could pick them up in the store still a few years ago.

I really want the standard front end for the 1/12 so let me know if you come across one. I will look too. I imagine it will take me a year to finish this kit anyway.

Yep, I've been keeping an eye open (ebay mainly) for that front end conversion...It's funny (weird)...you see things when you're not really
after them, and think..that would be kool.....then, when you want it, do ya think you can find one again....:shakehead
I'll keep chasing....unless I can find an easy way to do some casting myself...

What kit is the green Z? Nice work on the engine.

The green Z is a revell IIRC. The butterscotch is the Fujimi Z432

Cool 1/12th Datto I have the rally version and will continue building it when all my liitle rally cars R done.
