Rick Norwood 10-05-2009, 08:08 PM headlights used to come on soon as you flipped switch, but now they sometimes take anywhere from 3-15 seconds to ever pop on...???? Hi and welcome to the Forum. It is usually a good Idea to give us information like Make, Model, Year, 2wd or 4wd, 2dr or 4dr, and the engine size. To get to the matter, I am not sure if your headlights are Automatic that come on and off with the igniton key, or if you have to manually turn them on and off with a switch on the dash. In either case, electrical problems are a pain. Start by checking all of the grounds that you can find. I am not positive where the grounds are located on your truck. Sometimes they are located under the headlight brackets, and I think on some of the older models there is one on the underneath side of the frame under the driver's door. You may also find a headlamp relay in the glove box or under the hood. Look for similar relays with the same number and swap them around before spending any money buying new ones. You might also want to check the switch in the dash. If I remember right, it comes out pretty easy. Look for burnt wires and connections. good luck vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
