I have a 2002 Trailblazer LT. When I accelerate, there is this loud noise. Someone told me that it might be the transmission. It's like a roaring noise. Could this be the transmission? Also, someone else told me that there is something called a transmission filter and that if I were to take that off and clean it, then this would solve the problem. Is this true?? Can someone give me some ideas??

Little tough to diagnose noises from here, no? It does sound more a bad fan clutch, common issue. You need to have somneone who knows what they are doing listen to this.
