Fujimi Ferrari F355fastdupree 10-04-2009, 09:18 PM This is a kit I started a few years ago and painted it yellow but didn't like yellow so I stripped it and left it for dead. I found it with chips and cracks on it and felt bad because I love Ferraris. I think it would look OK in white. http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee34/fastdupree/DSC03772.jpg http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee34/fastdupree/F355Dead.jpg http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee34/fastdupree/5Cars.jpg countach79 10-05-2009, 06:37 AM nice! make sure you do us ferrari lovers proud!! fastdupree 10-07-2009, 08:51 PM Here are some pics to show start. http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee34/fastdupree/F01.jpg These are the wheels. I cut them because as I always felt Fujimi wheels are too small to me. http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee34/fastdupree/F02.jpg I used some 19" outer rims from a resin wheel kit I bought awhile ago. http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee34/fastdupree/F03.jpg Body with wheels. http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee34/fastdupree/F04.jpg I am working out the kinks. http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee34/fastdupree/5Cars.jpg countach79 10-08-2009, 05:34 AM nice start! good idea with the wheels, i have to agree fujumi haven't got it right fastdupree 10-13-2009, 07:09 PM Here are some updates. http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee34/fastdupree/DSC03738.jpg The body was finally saved from the cracks & dings and then primed. Painted wheels added to see what they will look like. http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee34/fastdupree/DSC03744.jpg Then 3 coats of Tamiya white paint was added. I will clearcoat and rub later. http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee34/fastdupree/DSC03886.jpg These are the wheels after painting. http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee34/fastdupree/5Cars.jpg janositamas 10-14-2009, 01:27 PM Wow, it looks sweet, the white body looks cool and I also like the bigger rims, keep it up! fastdupree 10-14-2009, 10:33 PM Wow, it looks sweet, the white body looks cool and I also like the bigger rims, keep it up! Thanks janositamas, I really want this one to come out right because it's the second try on color choice. http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee34/fastdupree/5Cars.jpg da_ashman 10-15-2009, 07:26 PM You should try either a Tamiya Pearl Clear or Zeros Bicano Fuji (pearl white) Ive recently used the Bicano Fuji & was amazed at the colour its beautiful!! I love White Ferraris, I saw an article in a Top Gear Magazine lately that had some English Radio DJ who had 8 white ferraris, including a 288GTO & an F40!! he also brought a $16m Ferrari at auction last year, cant remember what it was..... Awesome build so far fastdupree 10-16-2009, 09:53 AM You should try either a Tamiya Pearl Clear or Zeros Bicano Fuji (pearl white) Ive recently used the Bicano Fuji & was amazed at the colour its beautiful!! Awesome build so far Thanks da ashman, I already painted it and like the outcome. The 288GTO is my favorite Ferrari of all and the F40 is my 2nd but would only want them in red, Especially the real ones. http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee34/fastdupree/5Cars.jpg fastdupree 11-01-2009, 04:48 PM Some updates. http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee34/fastdupree/DSC02414.jpg Trying to do a little detail. http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee34/fastdupree/DSC02416.jpg This is a little harder than I thought. Should have painted it black. http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee34/fastdupree/5Cars.jpg tuned.by.twenty 11-01-2009, 08:05 PM Opening the vents is fiddly, and will probably test your patience, but it'll make a huge difference in the level of detail and realism. MidMazar 11-02-2009, 11:09 AM i wouldn't take those vents out now as the body is painted, but seems like your doing that anyway. Good luck. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
