03 Sunfire problem, need help!sunfire_583 10-04-2009, 05:34 PM Hi, I just bought a 2003 sunfire, 2.2L ecotec in it, its a 5 speed with 125 000 km on it, and just recently i have heard a kind of a whirring sound coming from the front of the vehicle when im driving down the road, i have checked the transmission fluid and have replaced it wih new ATF. but it still makes that whirring kind of sound, but when i press on the brakes it sounds like noise stops. it has new pads but it does'nt have new rotors. Any advice would be greatly apprectiated. Thanks, Mike Denman123a 10-05-2009, 12:22 PM Hi, I just bought a 2003 sunfire, 2.2L ecotec in it, its a 5 speed with 125 000 km on it, and just recently i have heard a kind of a whirring sound coming from the front of the vehicle when im driving down the road, i have checked the transmission fluid and have replaced it wih new ATF. but it still makes that whirring kind of sound, but when i press on the brakes it sounds like noise stops. it has new pads but it does'nt have new rotors. Meanwhile turn up the radio. :grinno: Airjer_ 10-05-2009, 12:24 PM Did it start right after you changed the brakes? If not than maybe a wheel bearing is starting to go bad? What speed do you start to notice it? about 30 mph? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
