Mazda RX-7 R1 Tamiyabigbertha 10-04-2009, 08:29 AM I've always liked the shape of these. I wanted to go for a more unusual sort of colour and wheels. I went for an auto colour called Kingfisher blue which I think suits it well. The wheels I have chosen are Fujimi Volkmesh TE37 (I think) painted gloss white. So far I've cleaned up the body of mould lines, primered in white, applied the blue and a top coat of clear (not polished yet). Photos follow of progress so far with the wheels placed under the arches for effect. All comments welcome. http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/8787/039au.jpg http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/8541/020gi.jpg http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/7426/021sj.jpg http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/1633/022vc.jpg http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/6798/023r.jpg http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/9716/024kh.jpg http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/9854/025db.jpg http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/4048/026zv.jpg http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/2496/027rv.jpg http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/9269/028zg.jpg Lownslow 10-04-2009, 11:01 AM not bad be sure to detail the lugs on the wheels AmazonSprite 10-04-2009, 12:19 PM Great colour choice - it pops really well on such softly curved bodywork. I've always liked these Mazdas too, and haven't seen a build thread of this kit before, so looking forward to seeing more :) Wishieftrottle 10-04-2009, 05:07 PM nice car bro, I have the same one on my desk :) Good paintjob Lets continue :runaround: blwnrtr93 10-05-2009, 05:46 PM I've got 3 1:24 FDs on my desk and a 1:1 in the carport. One of the best looking cars ever to make it off the drawing board. You're making great progress on this one. tuned.by.twenty 10-05-2009, 06:17 PM Simple, clean, and lowered. Works every time. bigbertha 10-07-2009, 02:38 PM Thanks for the comments guys. blwnrtr93 - I wish I had a 1:1 version, 1:24 will have to make do! Lownslow - I will definitely detail the wheels. tuned.by.twenty - Simple it definitely will be! I have too many others to do & not enough time, plus I'm a really slow builder! As you say if you have a good finish on top and a realistic low stance it's enough to look right. M-Tuning 10-08-2009, 04:58 PM Nice! Same color and wheels as my Celica :D: http://www.m-tuning.nl/test/content/Completed%20Models/Toyota%20Celica%20T18/Toyota%20Celica%2003.jpg NissanSkylineGTR98 10-08-2009, 05:45 PM Thats an awesome colour/wheel combo! The finish is gorgeous, keep up the excellent work. Can't wait to see it finished :D stump 10-09-2009, 02:30 AM That IS a gorgeous colour...:smokin: And the white wheels just set it off perfectly. These are a kool kit, I have another to do at some point...Are you going to add the motor ? They detail up pretty good.. bigbertha 10-23-2009, 12:31 PM Thanks for the comments. The Celica looks great, I assume you used the Tamiya rally version? (I have one to do). Yes the Tamiya kit has an engine. I plan to keep it simple but clean, as too many others to do in to little time. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
