99 Camry power windowlongnlean 09-29-2009, 01:41 PM Brian et al I hope that my post is not redundant I know it must be there if I look- I've lurked and lurked, and now have what I think may be an Okay pointed question for the group. When the PW Driver side is stuck partway down all other PW s work, door locks and window locks too and one has checked fuses, masterswitch rocker arms, to check the motor and regulator you must take off the door panel, right? I checked the volts on the masterswitch terminals, and see there is power to 4 but not 5 or 6 of them which I expected The wire colors were: Blue, Blue w Gray stripes (no not a civil war re enactment (>; ) Dark green w Gray stripes and Lt Grn w gray stripes. Do I continue down this course, and check motor somehow this way- volts/ (Amps?) to terms or take the panel off and check all that's there? And s/o said they jumped the motor to see if it can be brought back to life to GET THE WINDOW CLOSED ---hellllp!!! Which term, and how much juice from what source in other words connect/ splice/ jump one known wire w/ known juice to the wire you need to power ??? I do not want to fry anything btw is there a trick to posted wiring diagrams? my antivirus s/w told me to beware... Thanks, you all are the best since sliced bread. Ken Airjer_ 09-29-2009, 03:28 PM No red or green wire? http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j293/airjer/AF%20Stuff/camry-1.jpg If you want to jump the window motor you would supply power to the green wire and ground the red wire. To make it go the other way you supply power to the red wire and ground the green wire. You can check continuity between the red and green wire with the connector unplugged. You can check for power on the green and red wire with the connector plugged in. There should only be power on of the wires with the switch in the up or down position. If there is power on both with the switch in either position its a good indicator that the switch isn't allowing a path to ground. longnlean 10-01-2009, 01:48 AM Of course you are right about the Red & Green. They are there !!! but when I touched my meter probes there was no voltage with the ignition switch and Acc on. I did not have a wiring diagram. Thanks for the schematic and pointers. Oh, and I bailed and got to watch my mechanic enjoy the fun part, the diagnostics, then had to "get 'er done". (it's the wife's new old car, and she's anxious to get in't) Had 'em replace motor and regulator. The master switch is still functional- how y'like that? Motor + Regulator Assy charge for installn today= >$ 300 and I see I could've got on ebay motors $60! Ah, the things we do for love of work & money for the wife! :sarcasmsign: Oh, and the lesson here? Always, Always Always take a 10 year old car to a mechanic BEFORE you buy it! to negotiate down.
