I am repairing a piece of my fuel line and notice another line in between the 2 fuel lines and the 2 brake lines, bigger in diameter than both...is this air? I notice there are no pressurized fittings at the end of it, so didn't know if it would be fuel though it appears to go to the tank.
They all look rusty in the area I am repairing (one of the points where they clip to the body) so I'm wondering if I should get this larger one too while I'm at it? And if anyone knows what diameter I should buy? I believe the smaller fuel lines are 3/8", as I have a 1/4" piece on my porch and it's too small.
Thanks for any assistance!

On the '96, I think that the fuel lines are 5/16".
Which lines are you working on?....as in where are they.....going from what and to what?
I have a number of pictures posted from my various projects on my '96......the link in my signature takes you to them.

They are the lines from the fuel filter and plastic line and I'm going to around the driver's side door, where they look more solid. The bigger line, I have heard, just catches fumes or something...but besides leaking gas I didn't want to smell any more fumes either, so if that one has any breaks I would like to take care of it. If the size is unknown I will have to cut a piece off and find a ride to the parts store. I will look through your pics, thanks!

The vapor recovery unit, as I remember is next to the fuel filter......inside the unibody frame member.
So.....there will be the vapor lines, as you mention, going to/from the area near the fuel filter.

Got the 5/16 lines replaced, which was the big concern. In the process, I put my thumb through the vapor line. So now that I know it is ok to drive a little this way, I can cut a piece off and bring it in to get the correct size for that line. I will post the size when I know in case anyone else has to change this line. Thanks for all the help!
