I haven't heard of that code for a neon. The 95 neon isn't fully OB2 compliant, so maybe try the key dance to see what code it throws. What is the car doing?

Hi all .... my first post here!! Great Forum!! That code (PO743) would refer to a Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid problem and is typically found in the Neon. It's possible the converter may not be locking up and will not drop RPM's when it should or it will cause the car to shift improperly as in at the wrong RPM's. Hopefully this is of some help.

If memory serves me right, the switch is located above the valve body of the transmission, so if you're not comfortable removing the trans pan, the filter and then the valve body, you may wanna consider a garage you trust to do it. The part (again going on memory) was in the $30-$40 range. It's not hard to replace, but will require some time and patience if you've never done one before. There is an electrical connection on the front of the trans. Check the connector and clean it. :) A good repair manual will help alot if you want to try to tackle it .... if not .... dealer or reputable garage it is. Good luck!
