Battery warranty??RIP 09-23-2009, 03:43 PM Anyone know if Toyota has a warranty on batteries beyond the normal 3/36 warranty? I called the dealer and they said no. You know how that goes sometimes. Just wonder if anyone knows anything to the contrary? Wife's 06 RAV4 wouldn't turn over, luckily just a block away. Jumped it and it idled for two minutes and died. Jumped again and got it home. Connected a charger but it won't take a charge. Indicator dot says it's good but that only indicates one of six cells are good. Alternator putting out 14 volts. Installed battery out of my Camry and all is well. Time for a new battery. Mike Gerber 09-23-2009, 06:45 PM You can give Toyota corporate a call at 1-800-331-4331 and speak to customer service, but I would be willing to bet it's just the 3 year 36,000 mile bumper to bumper wauranty. Mike JOET/CAMRY 09-24-2009, 09:30 AM Indicator dot says it's good but that only indicates one of six cells are good. Hmmm, I always thought that a green indicator dot on the battery meant the battery was good (all six cells were functional) It seems that the indicator dot is more of a dummy light. Thanks for the info. Yep, sounds like your battery is toast. They were close at the right price and didn't have time to drive to the next town. Got burned on plug wires from them a couple years ago. Hope this works out better. Decent warranty but hope not to use it. Mike - Agreed with your bet. No time to mess. Number might come in handy some day. Thanks vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
