Hello-

Sounds like you may spend a small fortune buying that as a dealer item. I would urge you to try a recycling yard fist.

Also- As was mentioned by the previous poster you may consider fixing what you have. While taking the winch apart is a pretty messy job (old dried grease) - it is a pretty simple mechanism.

Just pay out the steel cable to eliminate the tangle - coat all items with axle grease - and reassemble.

Your gonna have to get a cable fastener to reconnect the tire yoke. You should be able to get all the hardware you need at a Home Depot or Lowes.

Good Luck-

found what i think is it from silver state ford for 60 bucks.

not bad. they are by and far the best deal for oem ford crap.

but im not paying that much for a winch thats a POS. :lol

i might try to fix it but i had to hack it off to get the tire down. its my wifes car, and i didnt want her to be stuck with a stuck spare.

i might dry drilling it out and reworking it. also might go to the yard sat.

problem is i seldom have luck finding a 99-03 winnie, but im hoping it MAY be the same as the first gen windstars. well see.

either way wether i can salvage mine, or get a used one, in thinking about pulling out all the cable, pumping it full og grease with a greese needle, then winding bakc, and just making sure to cycle it down and up every 6 months or so.

anti seize would work too id think, but packing it full off grease should work just as well, and be cheaper.

thanks for the info.,

as a side note, i cannot figure out for the life of me why issues like this dont piss me off on the windstar, but if it happened to my other car id be really angry. guess they have a certain endearing charm.
