I have a 1993 Regal 3.8 auto sedan...My problem is the car will start no problem but then shuts right off...So, turn the key it starts, than shuts down...I checked fuel pressure ( 58lbs) cranking...It was leaking down rather quickly..I replaced the fuel pressure regulator..That helped leak down problem...Still same thing starts and dies...I replaced the fuel pump with a new one..Still same thing..new fuel filter, same, cleaned throttle body..replaced plugs, same thing. If i strart it I can keep it running on starting fluid indefinatly..But not good for it..I ruled out a ignition problem by doing that.. My last test was noid light to the injector harness...when I start the engine the noid light pulses...then stops and motor dies...I start the car and the noid light blinks and I use starting fluid to keep it running but noid light stopped telling me injectors are shutting down.. So seems like ignition is ok,,injectors are shutting down..Can I jump the injectors or does it seem like a ECM problem,,,If so do I have to deal with the "key" programming issue? And finnally could it be a key problem in the first place...The security light is not on...I know this is long but just running out of options and money,,,

Can you see the security light when you first turn the ignition switch ON?

There is no security light on the dash cluster,,,,I found the problem last night by accident..I was grabbing my tools off the drivers floor and noticed a pretty large yellow wire was disconnected..AIRBAG WIRE!!! I plugged it in and low and behold started right up...I guess the car will disable itself if air bag deploys/or is disconnected....I always appriciate the input I get from this forum...Thank You
