2.0L timing marksJDkinsman 09-20-2009, 03:29 PM I'm putting a new timing chain on my 99 tracker 2.0L, cause the old broke...I toke the off and got it planed and replace 2 intake valves...so now I'm put it all back to gather and I need to know where to put all the timing marks.... The_Mechanic_33 09-20-2009, 04:07 PM I highly suggest buying a service manual for this procedure because: Turning the camshafts and the crankshaft (http://www.alldatapro.com/alldata/PRO~V136403683~C33863~R0~OD~N/0/70910848/78153753/78154568/78154775/34853741/100411974/34853743/34872030) once the timing chain is removed.Valve and piston (http://www.alldatapro.com/alldata/PRO~V136403683~C33863~R0~OD~N/0/70910848/78153753/78154568/78154775/34853741/100411974/34853743/34872034) damage can and may occur. The number 1 cylinder is at the Top Dead Centre position. The keyway on the crankshaft (http://www.alldatapro.com/alldata/PRO~V136403683~C33863~R0~OD~N/0/70910848/78153753/78154568/78154775/34853741/100411974/34853743/34872030) aligns with the mark on the engine block. The arrow on the idler sprocket is pointing upward. The guide pins on the camshaft sprocket line up with the notches on the cylindre head (http://www.alldatapro.com/alldata/PRO~V136403683~C33863~R0~OD~N/0/70910848/78153753/78154568/78154775/34853741/100411974/34853743/34854590).
