a/c blower motor problemsdrew51074 09-19-2009, 06:00 PM hi folks, got a 1999 e-320 with a non operative blower motor. pull the motor and bench tested the actual blower motor and it fires right up, so i ordered a new regulator after doing a little searching around on these forums. i got the regulator today and hooked it up and the minute i attached the ground plug the blower motor started to spin real slow, and my ignition came as if i had inserted the key and turned it on, but the keys are in my pocket!! i then inserted the key, crunk up the car, and the blower motor works fine, but when i turned the key to shut off the car, it kept on running. i unplugged the ground on the blower motor regulator and everything shut off. any i deas?? i checked the fuses and there are both fine, (4 and 7), which happens to be connected to the blower motor, igntion, AND the a/c control unit. then only thing i havent touched yet is tha control unit. would that cause this to happen. i re-installed the old regulator and i didnt have and ignition malfunctions, just no blower. now i have blower and the ignition wont shut off.. eclass 09-24-2009, 04:49 PM try a factory regulator before getting to far into it. i have heard of this but don't remember what the fix was. drew51074 09-28-2009, 09:46 AM what do you mean by "factory" regulator? i replaced the regulator with one i found online. is there a difference? i call the local dealer and the wanted to sell me a whole new blower motor and regulator for over $400. the dont have the original regulator anymore according to them. eclass 09-30-2009, 04:09 PM factory means "from the dealer" online is "?????" there was an update for 96-97 blower regulators that mad you replace the blower motor, your 99 should not need a new blower, just lie to them and say you already have the updated motor. then if it is wrong- return it. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
