Pro Mod M4... Unique Designelcamino6t9 09-18-2009, 08:21 AM Here's a different car for ya!.. My dad's friend, Harold Martin used to be a designer for GM and holds patents on all EFI for the vettes and many more.. Now retired he put his talent to work to redesign his own car after GM dropped his sponsorship. Definately worth a second glance when you see it. Anyways wanted to doodle it and see what came of it... http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q219/mavic31/HaroldMartin_tn.jpg Heres a pic of the car in the shop http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q219/mavic31/haroldMartin.jpg Blip 09-19-2009, 09:50 AM Cool racer and your sketch is off to a good start. Balancing out the proportions to all of those complex front end shapes/angles will be a challenge. And, looks like you have also tossed in a twisting front end launch to add even more difficulty. Looks spot on so far. elcamino6t9 09-19-2009, 09:58 AM Hey Blip.. I tihnk im making some progress here. Pretty simple so far though to add the colour. need to do hightlights and the front grille work... looks pretty cool though.. I think,.... neat looking car to say the least... alot of crowds around it at the track... http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q219/mavic31/HaroldMartin_tn3.jpg lemorris 09-19-2009, 12:36 PM solid work man very impressive elcamino6t9 09-20-2009, 01:10 AM Heres an update... Grille work and headlights.. as well as background...still working on it... Thanks Lemorris... !!! http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q219/mavic31/HaroldMartin_tn4copy2.jpg elcamino6t9 09-20-2009, 06:58 AM Update... Stripe on the hood and had to rework the hood scoop.. After looking at ref. pic realized it was off..so altered that and redid the colour... reflection and highlights next... http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q219/mavic31/HaroldMartin_tn4.jpg elcamino6t9 09-21-2009, 07:41 AM ampretty001 09-22-2009, 09:08 PM Wow awesome.Looks very impressive.. rpterpstra 09-22-2009, 11:28 PM I haven't posted for a bit, so I'm late to the party, but if I may offer some constructive criticism... The point of the hood stripe (and therefore the entire grill) appears to be shifting too far to the left, not following the centre line of the basic shape which makes up the body. You may want to revisit your original sketch and work that out... ~BG elcamino6t9 09-23-2009, 10:01 AM Hey man.. thanks for the critique!.. I cant believe i messed that up.. the angles on that car are bad enough. i didnt have to make it worse!.. The stripe was one of the last things added. Even in preliminary sketches i forgot to put it on.. It really makes the angle stand out. Anyways. I altered it this morning... Hope it looks better..thanks again. Take care! http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q219/mavic31/HaroldMartin_tn4_NEWcopy.jpg Blip 09-23-2009, 03:07 PM It's moving along very well, but there's one little thing that's distracting me a bit. It seems that your added hot spots and light "flairs" to the headlights indicating that they are turned on. However, it appears that the lights are just decals on the real version. It's not "wrong" as it is your toon design, based in your own toon world, but that's something making me go "huh?" elcamino6t9 09-24-2009, 02:04 AM yeah i did it to give a "spaceship" feel. Kinda playing up the design of the car. To me it looks so "out there". I did another one though without the light flair's. here it is.. http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q219/mavic31/HaroldMartin_tn4_NEWcopy2.jpg elcamino6t9 09-24-2009, 11:45 PM Wow awesome.Looks very impressive.. salamat ;) ingat! Blip 09-29-2009, 08:34 AM Well, after seeing both versions, looks to me like there's more visual punch to the first one with the glow effect. elcamino6t9 09-29-2009, 08:49 AM I agree I like the first one for the feel of it..as for accuracy and realism..obviously the second one...maybe the lights (graphics) need more work to represent the actual car...?.. they are not accurate enough?... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
