Just moved from NY, to Colorado. My car was doing ok in NY, although had multiple codes for he check engine light, including a failed O2 Sensor. Now in Colorado, my car seems like it is not getting enough gas when I start it, so it takes a few trys, then it idles at stop lights at 500 RPM's, but in NY it was 750-1000RPM's. It will over-heat when stopped, and running in Drive for a period of 5 minutes or longer. What is the problem here? I don't know if I need a new Thermostat, do I need a new O2 Sensor. I know I could use a tune up, but cannot afford it right now. Can I do these things on my own? Can anyone help me out with this.

Thanks,

Erik

Most items you can do at home by yourself. You need to get the SES codes along with a new brass ECTS. i have posted a video for this in other threads.

Get the codes and that will help lead to a diagnosis.

Altitude has nothing to do with how the car is running.
