1993 JGC. Starts then instantly stalls.AnotherCarIssue 09-15-2009, 03:48 AM The title explains the problem. It is one of my dads cars and he is a retired mechanic (much older and cant get around anymore) and theres only so much he can tell me and say but he really doesnt care if it works, he's got a ton of other cars but I'd like to get this going for him. I need ideas guys! Rick Airjer_ 09-15-2009, 09:35 AM What happens when you try to keep it running buy feathering the gas pedal? AnotherCarIssue 09-15-2009, 02:50 PM You can't just feather it, it stalls. If you floor it then it will rev but then instantly stall after revving. Rick pkucan 09-15-2009, 09:28 PM Same thing on my 93 and 98. 93 was a clogged fuel filter and after market alarm. 98 was a bad battery. Hope yours is one of these because they are an easy fix! AnotherCarIssue 09-15-2009, 09:52 PM Yea i figured it'd be a fuel issue. Fule Filter, Pump or relay. So we'll check them three first then we'll check the intake, hoses and all. I guess its time for process of elimination! Rick ronaldk 09-15-2009, 11:12 PM could also be ign switch. AnotherCarIssue 09-16-2009, 02:22 AM Even if it starts? Rick ronaldk 09-16-2009, 07:44 AM Yes because the switch has start position then run position. if problem with run position not feeding B+ then it will only run in start position and die the second you place in run.I dont know if thats your problem but it does happen so I dont want you to miss possible cause. AnotherCarIssue 09-16-2009, 07:00 PM alright thanks i'll tell my fathr that! Thanks for all the responses guys Rick jeep2002 09-28-2009, 10:08 PM A bad crankshaft position sensor will cause that as well vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
