Hello,

I believe my starter went on my 2001 Chevy Lumina. I've heard that this should be fairly simple to replace so I'm going to try and do it myself. I have googled some terms but I cannot figure out where the starter is located for my specific year, 2001.

If anyone could help it would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Mark

P.s pictures would be nice http://www.trustmymechanic.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

Down low on the front, look straight down between the radiator and the motor, below the exhaust manifold, and you'll be looking at it.

Don't forget to disconnect the battery before taking it off. And if you have a stock radio, better hook up a low voltage supply to the battery cables, or it will security lock the radio when the power is cut.

In between the oil filter and the transmission.
