My 1994 villager would not so much as click when I went to start it yesterday evening (in a grocery store parking lot with kids in tow I might add). This morning, I went to examine it, and it started immediately. After getting it home, It started again and again as I tested it, letting it run for a few minutes. Later, It had no response again. I continue to maintain full battery power and function of all electronic accessories. IS it the starter, or is there a simpler solution that I can try?

If you have a voltage meter try checking the voltage at the cable connection of the starter where the positive battery cable connects to the starter for voltage when it does not work. Check inner battery cables for corrision. Also test ignition switch.

Hope this helps.

A loose positive wire from the battery to starter will cause this symptom. on the tow home it made contact again so you could start it again and again till it got loose again.

Check for loose battery connection or starter wire.
