2002 sebrind 2/7 coolant problem

Ok let me tell you what happened first before the coolant problem. I had to change the cam shaft sensor. it never over heated before i replaced it. i had to take out the radiator hose connected to the radiator and all of the coolant poured out.

now since i put the hose back on and put about 1 1/2 gallons of coolant back in since all the coolant poured out of the radiator. and no its been over heating everyday since then. The car over heats and when you pop the hood the coolant is boiling in the coolant reservoir.

i was thinking maybe i havent put enough coolant back in yet. or maybe thermostat (hopefully). what do you guys think?

and i just went outside and checked the coolant level and it was completely empty. and i just put in another 1/2 gallon of coolant. while i was pouring it it started making a chugging sound and the coolant kept going down. now though it stopped chugging and leveled itself off.
