so I can turn on the lights using the wheel switch near my headlight switch, but when you open the door no interior lights come on by themselves. I can turn the ding bell off with the switch so I know the switch works.

All fuses are good.

I am new to suburbans as of this month, what gives? Any hints?

Thanks

Do you have the dome lamp defeat button pushed?

I have tried it with the button in and with it off, no change. It is kind of hard to get the button to go in all the way I have to jimmy it sometimes. You think a bad switch can do this?

Weird that I can turn it on with the wheel though.

anhy thoughts??

I would say therein lies your trouble. The button should push in and stay in (domes off) easily. It should push in and come out (domes on) easily. The wheel is a totally different circuit in the switch.

Ok, so tell me: If you push the button in, can you still turn on the domes using the wheel? This would confirm my suspicion of the switch.

And is this a dealer part, or is there after market like NAPA or something I can get a new switch?
