1991 Dodge Dakota wont start!!jeff spicer 09-02-2009, 11:19 PM I have a 91 Dakota that has been a very good truck, untill a couple of weeks ago. Going down the road, it just shut off just like I turned the thing off. So I pulled into someones driveway and tried to crank it. It turned over good, but would not crank. I walked up to the house to tell them i was having troubles, and by the time i got back to the truck, it cranked right up and i drove off. It did fine for a few days, then did the same thing. It did that four or five times in about two weeks, then it stopped cranking all togeather. I checked it out, and was getting no spark to the plugs, nothing coming out of the coil, nothing going into coil. Replaced pick up in dist., replaced coil, and then the main computer. Still wont crank, whats next?? This is getting expensive.:banghead: cartruble 11-05-2009, 10:14 PM i have the same model. if it is the 5.2L 4wd try the torque convertor. happen to me and i change it runs fine skycor 11-13-2009, 08:11 AM i just fixed mt '94 with the same problem. i also just put a new thread on it if you can find it. follow the red/white wires from the fuel pump relay out of the box down about a foot. there is a solder point that went bad. added some new wire and resoldered and it all works fine.
