Our 2k Venture makes crunchy/pop sound during inclined turns

.... only when turning to the right and only when it is some sort of incline or dip with the turn. It sounds very painful. Sometimes after doing the turn there is a slight squeak for about 15 seconds. A friend of mine (fairly good mechanic) noticed the Passenger side tie rod end that needed replaced, so we replaced both. While replacing both we saw the Driver side CV boot split and the goop all over. We replaced that as well hoping that may have been the cause. He has inspected the ball joints and he believes those are fine. We are now stumped as to what it is. Could the sway bar ends and bushings make the noise if they were old and worn, or is something else afoot?

Could be upper strut mount bearings. Especially if it happens only when turning.

Thanks for the tip. I mentioned that to my friend and I saw a light bulb go on above his head. Soon as I finish with my Lumina strut project I'll delve into that one.
