Hey all,

I cannot seem to find the low pressure port on this 1997 XR7 (4.6L v8). Can anyone point it out for me using the attached picture? According the repair manual I picked up at Autozone, the low pressure port has a larger diameter line than the high pressure port.

I also picked up a couple of cans of r134a freon to test out the system, but the line that connects doesn't fit on either port as described in the picture.

In the attached picture you will see a red circle that highlights what I think is the high pressure side (near the firewall) and a black circle that highlights what I think is the low pressure port (towards the front of the car). You will notice that the ports are the clean, metallic lines that are circled. The one closest to the firewall (high pressure) is hard to see.

Based on the year of the year of the car, the car should use r134a refrigerant and the line should fit onto the port without issue. However, when I apply the refrigerant line to the supposed low pressure port (towards the front of the car), the port is too large. The opposite is true for the port near the firewall (too small). What am I missing? I haven't added any freon yet because I can't figure out where the low pressure port is.

*Picture upload won't work so here is a link to the image:

Forgot to mention that the low pressure side seems to be slightly too big for the freon hose. It is a 1997 so it should be running all r134a I would think.
