i have a 2000 eclipse that i just purchased that is throwing a p1610 code. i assume it is doing this because i had to replace the ignition. can anyone tell me how to fix this? thanks in advance!

edit: i do have a dealership modis, but not sure how i would go about the reprogram.

i know what the code is, i need to know how to reprogram for new ignition. would rather not go to dealer-nearest one is over two hours away.

Go to Club3g.com and search for "immobilizer delete". Should get rid of the code.

You can try to delete it yourself or take it to the dealership ro reprogram it. Those are the only 2 options.
