acceleration and tranny switchsusunka 04-05-2003, 05:29 AM I have a 99 Hyundai accent, with only 44k miles on it I bought it second hand and it idles nice runs good and has a manual 5 speed transmission. When I want to accelerate fast through the gears it seems to have a half way spot that feels sluggish and yet when I punch it to the floor it picks up and then acts normal is this flat spot due to the pollution devices and you have to live with it? second question on some of the manual Hyundai trannys there is a 5th gear switch on the tranny,What does it do? email me ronplanes@cs.com farbod 04-05-2003, 05:44 AM have you talked to your insurance company ????????????????????????????????????????? susunka 04-06-2003, 04:44 AM whats my insurance company got to do with the fix , are you in the right post? :flipa: farbod 04-06-2003, 04:45 AM it was jus an idea boingo82 04-07-2003, 12:03 PM If by "5th gear switch" you mean "overdrive lockout", then the switch prevents the tranny from shifting into 5th, netting you better power and worse gas mileage. Don't know about the "lull". OK, edit: I didn't read very carefully and assumed you had an auto. What do you mean by "5th gear switch" on a manual tranny? farbod 04-07-2003, 12:05 PM realy vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
