I got a 97 sierra 1/2 ton ext cab z71 with the 5.7 and auto. I just replaced the fuel pump and now it will not start. I know I am getting fire, but no fuel to the throttle body. Any ideas?

Can you hear the pump running? Do you have power to the pump? Did 97 have the ground from the pump that attached to the frame with a bolt? If it does did you attach the ground to the frame with the bolt?

ya, i can hear the pump run and have pressure up to the pressure testing port, but won't start

when you say you are getting fire do you mean you are getting spark or it sounds like its trying to turn over?

What brand of pump and how much pressure do you have?

The spec is 60 to 66 PSI if you want to know the fuel pressure specs.You do not want an Airtex or Carter fuel pump,JUNK!Get a Delphi pump from your nearest Carquest parts store or from the dealer.Carquest got smart ditching Airtex and switched to Delphi for their fuel pump supplier,no problems yet.
