Hello: Somebody please that me of an answer or if they know some page where it can find out that information. Greetings. srtolly 09-24-2009, 05:47 PM Headers are usually installed to increase performance. A Y pipe to a 3" exhaust would be ok. An X pipe gives better scavenging and can keep some of the fuel economy while giving good performance. I never cared for H style exhaust but I've only used them on motorcycles. Hello: thanks for the answer. I understand then that to gain a little more power and yield I must make it in X. The noise silencers where are but advisable to install them, near the X or but moved away the possible thing.? RahX 09-26-2009, 10:01 AM An H-pipe is mainly used to equalize the exhaust pressure. You usually use a Y pipe when you cannot run a dual exhaust. You run the Y into a larger diameter pipe like srtolly said to compensate for only using 1 pipe. Dual exhaust sounds different than a larger single pipe. You can put the mufflers wherever they will fit the best, what you have done to the exhaust already is going to get you the most gain. By your experience, that instaling, H or X, and that tube diameter you would put to him. the exit of both mall pillows is of 2,5" , it agrees to continue with that caliber or to use 3". Thanks for your attention, by these earth there is few V8 and there is no great experience in these subjects. I am doing overhaul to the motor I do and it with passion, already arrived headers to me from Flowtech, I consider that they will be a great improvement, along with 50000 V distributor HEI. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
